Salt Cured Egg Yolks

I love egg yolks prepared any and every way – even raw.

I made salt cured egg yolk just to try and they were amazing!

Fill a pan with kosher salt

Create divits in the salt with a spoon

place an egg yolk in each divit

Cover with a layer of salt

Cover the pan with plastic wrap

 

Place in refrigerator for 7 days

Remove the yolks from the salt and brush off as much salt as you can

You can use a wet paper towel to remove more salt.

The egg yolks will be sticky

Bake at 150 F for 2 hours – or place in dehydrator at 150 F for 2 hours

They can be grated on salads or just eaten as is!
