144: What Secrets Our Intracellular Micronutrients Reveal Can Change Our Lives

In our last episode, we covered the beginning of what we do in this program. Dr. Karl’s intention is for you to get to know the various components personally because he feels that it is reasonable for you to seek out a local physician wherever you live. It is more than likely that you will find a physician in your area who is doing, or at least thinking, in the same way as Dr. Karl does.

Dr. Karl put all the components together, and with a lot of struggling, managed to create a process that can get reproduced.

The process is very worthwhile. Most people who go through Dr. Karl’s program follow up again in six to twelve months to get retested.

The four conditions

In the last episode, Dr. Karl followed the conditions of infertility in a woman in her late thirties, a hormone imbalance in a woman in her early fifties in her perimenopause state, and obesity and fatty liver in two men.

The four panels

Today, we will be pulling those conditions through the four panels to show you how those panels will have benefited each of those individuals.

What this program is

In Dr. Karl's program, the focus is on the diet and the lab results, which usually come back after four weeks. Everyone in the group reviews each other’s labs so that they all get to understand the bigger picture. Dr. Karl also brings up studies in a very useable way.

How Dr. Karl got into looking at the snips of single nucleotide polymorphisms

In 2001 and 2002 did some reading about the MTHFR gene variants. He started testing autistic children, and all the lab results came back positive. At the time, Dr. Karl thought that the mutations might be indicative of autism. They were not, however, because autism is multifactorial. Dr. Karl’s population happened to be 100% homozygous for MTHFR of the worst type. From then on, he was open to looking at more polymorphisms, and he started building his knowledge.

Addiction

Addiction, in general, has to do with dopamine excess that eventually leads to a long-term deficiency.

Deficiencies

Dr. Karl lists the deficiencies and borderline deficiencies in people, and then he addresses them.

Neurotransmitters

The problems that people experience with neurotransmitter deficiencies usually stem from them having carb-addicted personalities. That would have a lot to do with why the one woman had a hormone imbalance. That can get addressed by using supplements. The overweight man and the man with the fatty liver had many deficiencies caused by their lifestyles that needed to get addressed.
