143: 4 Conditions, 1 Process

Today, Dr. Karl will be covering how to do his 90-days, deep-dive, data-driven program to help people with certain conditions know what is going on with them, and how to treat it.

He will discuss four different conditions: infertility, hormone-imbalance, Crohn's disease, and obesity, and explain how people can address and get to understand them more deeply. He will go through four different panels and make the information in each of them easy for you to understand.

Dr. Karl suggests that upon hearing this information, you seek out a physician in your area because his program works only in the United States, and in New York and New Jersey, the laws make it awkward for him to order labs because they fear competition.

Getting sick

In 2012, Dr. Karl got very sick with ulcerative colitis and also Crohn's disease. Although he had no history of either condition, he had both, and they blew up over the course of one to two months.

Things that would have aided his recovery in a short time

Had Dr. Karl had the metabolic labs on infertility, hormone-imbalance, Crohn's disease, and obesity, and had he had the intracellular micronutrient data, the 24-hour hormone panel, a genomic map, and someone else formulate a plan for him, it would have helped him to recover a lot faster.

Four conditions

Dr. Karl will give four hypothetical conditions and describe how to look at the various panels in your blood work.

These are the four conditions that he will discuss:

  1. A woman in her late thirties with concerns about infertility.
  2. A woman who had “hormonal imbalances”.
  3. A man in his mid-fifties with fatty liver.
  4. Some of the less obvious things about obesity and diabetes, because weight is not the condition. It is a symptom of something else.

It is easy to underestimate the value of Vitamin D

It is easy to underestimate the value of Vitamin D because only those who have a severe deficiency of it will show a marked improvement in their mood, energy levels, and sleeping patterns upon taking it.

The effectiveness of Dr. Karl’s program

The effectiveness of Dr. Karl’s program depends on several different factors. You will need to look for things that might be deficient, to which you could bring something. So even if Vitamin D levels are normal, several other factors might need to be looked at for their optimum health.

The link between inflammation and cancer

Inflammation is a multi-named stage progression to cancer.

Before the program starts

All the tests mentioned in this episode get done before Dr. Karl’s program starts. When the program starts he focuses on dietary interventions, which are split into two parts. The first six weeks involves stepping the carbs down to the classic ketogenic diet. In the second six weeks, the fats get reduced if the individual needs to lose some weight. If not, they will start with not consuming any fat for a few days of the week. By the end of the program, they will have gone for several weeks with very low fat. That usually causes a dramatic change, provided that no other obstacles were found on the various panels.
