Jalapeno Martini

We have a lot of jalapenos in our garden – way more than I thought we would get.

Initially, I did not know what I was going to do with them, so I sliced some up and put then into some vodka.   I did it to preserve the jalapeno, but I also like ‘hot’ martinis.

I have since made jalapeno jelly and jalapeno relish which are both amazing!

The jalapeno jelly is great with pork and chicken.

You don’t need a lot of jalapenos to make jalapeno vodka, just slice up one or two and place in vodka.

I made Jalapeno Martini’s with the jalapeno vodka – it was very strong so I only used 1/2 shot of hot vodka and 1/2 shot of regular vodka.

With a couple of ice cubes added and a sprig of rosemary from our garden – it was just the right amount of heat and was very delicious

Sounds delicious! How long did you marinate the jalapenos in the vodka? What is your preferred brand of Vodka? Thank you in advance. did the rosemary add flavor or was that just for garnish ..aesthetics.

I think it was for 2 weeks – it is very hot! had to dilute with some plain vodka. The rosemary added a slight flavor but not much.
My preferred brand is Belevedere but it is pricey – I will now get Rain vodka – or any good enough vodka in a glass bottle
