Tom mentioned briefly that he spent a year in Vietnam as part of the 1st Calvary Division…The 1st Cavalry Division is one of the most decorated combat divisions of the United States Army and had some of the highest casualty rates of the entire Vietnam War. As he calmly puts it: ‘…From firebase to the jungle’ is where he spent his time.

It is no stretch of the imagination to say he sees himself in an entirely different kind of war…with an even higher ‘body count’ then in Vietnam…  ‘of over 1,600 people dying of cancer each day’ in the US.
