Your health is in your own hands, about 95 percent of it
|
Hey Reader, Dr Karl here. Your health is in your own hands, about 95 percent of it. Four years. One woman. Insulin 9.6 to 3.4, glucose 108 to 92, CRP 3.6 to 0.47, HOMA-IR 2.6 to 0.8, and a move from one population into the other. She did the work. I read the numbers. Those are two different jobs and only one of them is mine. Which brings me to the thing I actually believe, and it is the reason I make these at all. Your health is in your own hands. Not all of it. Genetics is real, luck is real, and some things are not on the table. But something like 95 percent of what happens to your metabolic health over the next twenty years is downstream of decisions you are making right now, mostly without data. Data is the part you can fix this month. Three ways in, in the order I would take them: The email series. Free. This is the whole method, one piece at a time, and you are already in it. The two books. Unlocking Optimal Metabolic Health is about this: the panel, the patterns, what the pairs tell you. Precision PSMF, written with Judi, is about protein requirements and how to lose fat without losing the muscle you will need at seventy. Both on Amazon. Read your own labs. If you want your own constellation read against the dataset instead of against a reference range, that is what I do. Details are at ketonaturopath.com. If you only do one thing after this video, do this one: find out your fasting insulin. Not your glucose, not your A1c. Your fasting insulin. If it is over 7, you have something to work on. If it is under 5, you are in good shape. Most people have never had it measured and could have it done next week. You can run it now, or you can run it in five years after somebody hands you a diagnosis. It is the same test. You will not be the same. Next video: what didn’t go as planned. Because not every case runs like this one. >> WATCH: To your health, Dr. Goldkamp Links to Our books

Three numbers your doctor called normal
Four pages on three pairs of numbers you have almost certainly had run already: glucose with insulin, triglycerides with HDL, homocysteine with B12 and folate. Read one at a time, each one comes back normal. Read as pairs, they say something else.
Or if you would rather talk it through, the 20-minute call is free. I will tell you on the call if this is not a fit.
