Flourless Keto / Carnivore Bagels

I make my Garlic Rosemary and my Cinnamon breads a few times a week.

Since the breads are  made with egg whites, I have quite a few left over egg yolks.  I do have several recipes for using the egg yolks, but most of them are sweet and I wanted a savory way to use them.

The Flourless Bagels are perfect for this – and they taste really good!

I was surprised to try them and not have them taste like eggs!

I made 2 kinds – one I topped with Everything But the Bagel seasoning, and the second I added cinnamon and a tiny amount of liquid stevia.

Enjoy!

Flourless Keto / Carnivore Bagels

These bagels are made with egg yolks and not any type of flour is used
Course: Snack
Cuisine: Keto
Keyword: flourless, nut free, dairy free, grain free, sugar free, wheat free, gluten free, keto, carnivore
Servings: 3
Calories: 180kcal

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 21 grams bacon grease about 1 1/2 TBS
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • In a small measuring cup (I use a liquid measuring cup since it has a spout to pour the batter), add all ingredients
  • Whisk until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Pour into bagel pan. I use a silicone bagel pan for easy release. It will make 3 bagels
  • Bake in a 350 F oven for 20 minutes
  • After 20 minutes, turn the oven off and let the bagels sit in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and let cool

Notes

I topped some of my bagels with Everything But the Bagel seasoning before baking.
For others, I added cinnamon and a small amount of liquid stevia to the batter.
They taste great toasted or as a 'sandwich'.

Is this list of ingredients correct?

  2. Lisa says:

Are you sure the ingredients are correct because it says 6 egg yolks but the description at the top says these are made with egg whites? Can you please double check the ingredients in the post because I am eager to try this recipe. Thank you in advance

Please disregard! I just re-read the top and you were referring to the other breads made with whites which leaves egg yolks left over and makes them perfect for this recipe. My apologies!

Would it work making these in a muffin tin?

Hi, these look amazing! I’m not clear on the macros. Can you please clarify what a serving is?
    Thank you!

Thank you, just made this afternoon…..one batch of muffins using no extras and another batch with 1/2 a tsp each of cinnamon and erythritol. Will definitely do them again.

Perfect carb curber! I made them this morning, and even my husband liked them. I spread a little cream cheese on mine, and it was like eating a brioche. I’m thankful for having the freedom to making sandwiches again without fear of being “carbed” out by the first bite. I have to buy my eggs, but I consider it an investment to get the freshest ones for this treat. Thanks again!

Super good, I used this recipe for my mini corndog cooker and put some quartered leftover bbq’d brats for a keto version of a corndog. It was good. I also baked one in my mini dash bundt shape with the Everything Bagel seasoning sprinkled with some Parmesan. Again, very good. The one I made exactly to the original recipe I am using as a bun for tomorrow’s burger patty made from ground chicken gizzards. Thanks, Judi!!!
